Svettkollen

How it works

How Svettkollen counts, fetches and links your classes.

What counts

Only attended classes count in your stats. Booked classes, queue spots and cancelled and missed classes are fetched too, so a later fetch can update them, and the Data page shows how many aren’t counted.

A gym visit without a class, which the gym calls “Training”, doesn’t count as a class. It counts as a training day and towards your favourite clubs.

A week counts towards your weekly streak when you’ve trained at least once, in a class or on a gym visit.

Hold a class in the week on Overview, or tap it, to say how hard it felt, from 0 to 10, and write a note on how it went. If you left a queue or cancelled a booking before Svettkollen fetched it and the class has since started, you can remove it there, and it counts as cancelled.

With “Ask how the class felt” on under Settings, a notification comes 30 minutes after a class you booked ends, unless you’ve already said how hard it felt. Tapping it opens the week on that class. If it would come between 22:00 and 07:00, it comes at 07:00 in the morning instead. It covers classes Svettkollen has fetched from the gym, and the notifications need an account.

For the first 7 days of a month, Overview shows a card on last month, if you went to at least one class then. Month at a glance compares it with the month before and the same month a year earlier, and while a month is going on, the same days are compared. Hide the card for a month with the cross.

A substitute counts when the gym’s schedule lists whoever taught the class as a substitute. A cancelled class counts only when a fetch saw your booking and that the gym cancelled the class. Classes you cancelled don’t count.

Your most sought-after class is the program, weekday, time and location that was most often fully booked, among at least 3 classes you went to. If there’s none, it’s the class with the longest waitlist.

Looking around with made-up classes

Before you fetch your classes, you can look around with made-up ones from the start page: almost two years of training for a made-up member, at locations and with instructors that don’t exist. The week and the bookings follow today’s date.

The made-up classes exist only in this tab while you look. None of it is saved in your browser or your account, nothing is fetched from the gym, and anything you change meanwhile, such as a note, goes with them.

“Exit” takes you back to the start page. The made-up classes also go when you fetch your classes, import a file, sign in, delete all data or reload the page.

Automatic updates

When you fetch classes under Data with “Update my stats automatically” ticked, a login key from the gym is kept, never your password. With it, new classes are fetched when you open Svettkollen, sign in, switch gym or come back to the tab, at most once every 5 minutes.

The key is kept only in the browser where you fetched your classes. On an iPhone, Svettkollen on the home screen has its own storage, apart from Safari, so fetch your classes under Data there too.

An update fetches your classes since the last fetch, at least 7 days back, and your bookings. The full history is only fetched under Data.

With Svettkollen open, an extra update runs 15 minutes after a booked class ends, so it shows as attended.

If the gym asks for a break, Svettkollen waits an hour. If your login has expired, log in again under Data. Turn automatic updates off under Settings, for each device.

More than one gym

The first gym you fetch classes from becomes your gym. With classes from more gyms, you pick your gym in the profile menu at the top right. It shows in the top bar and comes first on Schedule and among the memberships on Statistics.

Automatic updates fetch from every gym you have a remembered login for, your gym first. If one gym asks for a break, only that gym waits.

Statistics, Year at a glance and Month at a glance count every gym together. With classes from more than one gym, you can show one gym at a time under “Gym”. If two gyms have a location of the same name, the gym's name follows it in brackets.

When you import a CSV file, you pick the gym it comes from. Classes from a file no gym was picked for show under “From a file”.

Queue alerts

When you’re waitlisted for a class, Svettkollen checks the gym’s schedule for how long the queue is. The closer the queue is to closing, the more often: every 30 minutes while more than a day is left, every 10 minutes on the last day, every 5 minutes in the last six hours and every minute in the last hour.

At Nordic Wellness, a queue spot can turn into a booking until 4 hours before the class, and you need to cancel by then too to avoid the fee. If you get a spot just before that, you only have a few minutes.

When the queue gets shorter, a notification goes to every device where you’ve turned them on. With a remembered login on the device, it asks the gym for your bookings and says whether you got a spot or what your place in the queue is. Without one, it only says that the queue got shorter.

When the queue closes, a last notification says whether you got a spot.

Under Settings you choose what you want to hear about: getting a spot, moving up the queue, the queue closing without a spot for you and the gym cancelling the class. The browser requires every notification to show, so something you turned off sometimes comes anyway, but without a sound.

If a queue spot becomes a booking while the queue is open, a reminder comes 30 minutes before the last time to cancel without a fee. No reminder comes if less than 30 minutes are left until then when you get the spot, or if a fetch from the gym shows you’ve already cancelled.

If someone leaves the queue as someone else joins it, the queue looks just as long and no notification comes. Queue alerts need an account, and you turn them on under Settings for each device.

Reminder when booking opens

At Nordic Wellness, booking opens about a week before the class, usually 30 minutes after the same class the week before has ended, and popular classes fill up within minutes. Svettkollen doesn’t guess the time but reads it for each class from the gym’s public schedule. When you plan a class under Schedule, the time is saved with it.

With “Reminder when booking opens” on under Settings, a notification comes the minute booking opens, to every device where you’ve turned on notifications. Tap it to open Schedule on the class’s day. You then book with the gym, as usual.

Under Weekly reminders you pick classes you want to book every week. A class counts as the same when the location, weekday and time are. Svettkollen’s server fetches the gym’s public schedule for those locations a few times a day, without any login, to know when booking opens.

If you’ve already booked the class, are in the queue for it or have taken it out of your plan, no reminder comes. Each class gets at most one.

Reminders need an account, and you can have at most 10 weekly ones.

Free spot on planned classes

With “Free spot on planned classes” on under Settings, Svettkollen checks the gym’s public schedule for the classes you’ve planned under Schedule once booking has opened: every 15 minutes, and every 5 minutes on the last day before the class.

If the class was full and a spot has opened up, a notification goes to every device where you’ve turned on notifications. Tap it to open Schedule on the class’s day. You then book with the gym, as usual.

If anyone is waitlisted for the class, a free spot goes to the queue first, and no notification comes. If the class fills and frees up again, at most one notification comes an hour. The notifications need an account.

Reminder before cancelling closes

With “Reminder before cancelling closes” on under Settings, a notification comes before the last time to cancel without a fee, for every class you’ve booked. Under the switch you choose how long before, from 30 minutes to 3 hours. At Nordic Wellness, the last time is 4 hours before the class.

If the reminder would come between 22:00 and 07:00, it comes at 21:00 the evening before instead, so it doesn’t wake you.

Your gym login only lives in your browser, so Svettkollen’s server only knows about a booked class once Svettkollen has fetched your bookings. If you book in the gym’s app and don’t open Svettkollen before the reminder would come, none comes. With “Update my stats automatically”, your bookings are fetched when you open Svettkollen.

No reminder comes for a class you book less than 30 minutes before it would come. If the device has a remembered login, it asks the gym before showing the notification, and if you’ve already cancelled, it comes without a sound. The notifications need an account.

Weather by your classes

In the week on Overview, the classes you booked, are waitlisted for, planned or teach show the weather: the forecast for the hour the class starts, in the town the location is in, from Open-Meteo. The forecast reaches 8 days ahead, so a class further off gets one as it comes closer. It works without an account, and you turn it off under Settings.

Weather before and after a class

With “Weather before and after a class” on under Settings, a notification comes 60 minutes before a class you booked starts and one as it ends, with the temperature, how it feels and whether rain, snow or wind is on the way. Tapping it opens Schedule on the class’s day.

Classes in a row at the same location count as one visit: the notification before is for the first class, and the one after comes only when the last ends. A class starting at most 15 minutes after the previous one ends counts as in a row.

The weather is the forecast for the hour the class starts or ends, in the town the location is in, from Open-Meteo. It covers classes Svettkollen has fetched from the gym, and the notifications need an account.

Classes from the schedule

Under Schedule you choose up to 3 locations and see the gym’s public schedule week by week, without logging in to the gym. Svettkollen fetches one week per location at a time.

A class you plan doesn’t count until you say you were there. Your friends see it among your upcoming classes, as planned.

Once the class has started, the week on Overview and Data ask whether you were there. Answer Yes and the class counts as attended. Answer No and it doesn’t count.

You can also say you were at a class up to 4 weeks back.

If you fetch your classes from the gym, the gym’s details replace your picks for the same class, and a gym visit just before a planned class counts as that class.

If you follow an instructor, on Statistics or Schedule, Schedule lists their classes in the next 7 days at your locations. Classes at other locations don’t show, since the schedule is only fetched for the ones you chose. If the instructor is substituting, or is replaced by a substitute, the class says so.

Quiet and busy times

Under Schedule you see the quietest and the busiest time of the programs you go to most, at your locations, and “Usually full” on classes that were fully booked at least 50% of the weeks.

The numbers come from the gym's public schedule, which still shows after a class how many spots were booked and how many were waitlisted. Svettkollen's server fetches them without any login, once a week, for the locations used with a Svettkollen account, and counts the last 8 weeks.

A time that has run for fewer than 4 weeks isn't shown, and virtual classes don't count.

Every location with enough weeks also has a page of its own that anyone can see, linked from Gyms.

Drop-ins and gym visits

If you go to a class without booking it, the gym often records just a gym visit. If a class starts within 45 minutes of your check-in, the visit counts as that class: preferably one you were booked or queued for, otherwise the first one that isn’t virtual. Virtual classes run all day without booking, so they only count if you pick them.

Instructors don’t book their own classes. Once you’ve picked yourself as instructor under Settings, a visit with a class you teach starting within 60 minutes of check-in counts as a gym visit. Before that, visits just before one instructor’s classes aren’t counted automatically if there are at least 3 of them and they’re at least 30% of your gym visits.

Under Data you can answer No or pick another class. Your answers only change how visits are counted, never what was fetched from the gym.

Programs and merges

With “Combine Hot, Virtual etc.”, variants such as Hot SHAPES and Virtual SHAPES count as the same program as LES MILLS SHAPES.

With your own merges you count one program as another, e.g. after the gym renames it.

You can link an event class like Rosa Bandet to the program it really was under Data. Your choice follows the class, even if you make it while the class is booked.

None of this changes your classes as they were fetched, and the export is always what the gym sent.

Cost per class

Each day is counted at what you entered under “What you paid”, otherwise at the gym’s current price. The total is divided by the number of classes and training days in the period.

Enter discounts and wellness allowances and the cost gets more accurate. Days without a price aren’t counted.

If you froze your membership, add the period under “Frozen periods” in the breakdown. Those days then don’t count, neither in the cost nor among the classes.

Classes you teach

The gym doesn’t show who is an instructor, so you pick yourself on the gym’s schedule under Settings. The schedule is public and fetched without your login.

The week ahead is fetched for up to 3 clubs, and during automatic updates at most once every 3 hours.

Older classes are only fetched when you ask. The classes you teach are kept only in your browser and don’t count as your own classes.

“All the way back” first shows the classes you taught that already appear in the schedule around your gym visits. Then it fetches the schedule only for the two-week stretches you were at your clubs, and stops 26 weeks before the earliest class you taught. What’s already fetched isn’t fetched again.

If a class you taught still shows as attended, e.g. after a Yes under Data, it counts as a training day but not as one of your classes, unless you turn on “Count classes you taught as your own”. You’re never counted as your own favourite instructor.

Classes you taught, and gym visits just before one, don’t count towards your weekly streak unless you turn on “Count classes you taught in your weekly streak”.

Training feed

The link shows your classes 28 days back and 7 days ahead.

Add ?days=… to the end of the link for up to 56 days back, or ?futureDays=… for up to 14 days ahead.

The classes are as fresh as the last sync to your account from any of your devices.

With “Include health data” on, the feed also includes your sick days and what you wrote day by day, symptoms included, so whoever reads it sees why you trained less and whether it got better or worse.

With a training goal turned on under Settings, the feed includes it too, so whoever plans knows what you train for and how many times a week you aim for.

Notes you write on your classes and how hard you said they felt are in the feed too, so whoever plans sees how the classes felt.

The same secret link also comes as an MCP address, so Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants can read your classes directly. Add it to the assistant as a custom connector. The address is your link with /api/mcp/ instead of /api/feed/.

The assistant can read your classes, a summary of the week and your training goal, and with “Include health data” on, your health data and sick days too. It can't change anything or book classes, and each read counts towards the link's limit of 30 an hour.

Week analysis

With an account and “Week analysis” on under Settings, you can ask Claude, an AI from Anthropic, to analyse the week from Overview. Claude gets the week's numbers and the four weeks before, your training goal, your notes and ratings, and your upcoming classes, and answers with a few lines about the week and suggested classes for next week from the programs you usually go to. Each week can be analysed once and then 2 more times, and the suggestions aren't medical advice.

Mail with your numbers

When you turn on “Mail with your numbers” under Settings, a short mail comes with your numbers. With “Every week” it comes on Monday from 07:00 with last week, and with “Every month” on the 1st with last month.

The weekly mail has your classes, training days, your weekly goal if you have one, the program you went to most often, your weekly streak, sick days if you logged any and what you’ve booked this week.

The monthly mail has your classes, training days and hours compared with the month before, and the program, instructor and location you had most often.

If you didn’t train during the period, no mail comes. If nothing has been fetched from the gym since the period began, no mail comes either, instead of numbers that are too low.

The numbers are the ones your account has, so they reach as far as the last time you fetched classes.

Calendar

The calendar link shows your booked, waitlisted and planned classes for the next 14 days and the classes you went to in the last 14 days, so they stay in your calendar.

A class you're waitlisted for is called e.g. “BODYPUMP (waitlist 3)” and a planned one “BODYPUMP (planned)”. Cancelled and missed classes disappear from the calendar, and gym visits without a class aren't shown.

The classes are as fresh as the last sync to your account from any of your devices. Calendar apps fetch the link on their own schedule, and Google Calendar can take up to a day.

In Google Calendar, add the link with “Add to Google Calendar”; in Apple Calendar, with “Open in Apple Calendar”. In Outlook, choose Add calendar → Subscribe from web and paste the link.

The classes get their own calendar, “My classes (Svettkollen)”, next to your others. In your calendar app you can rename it, change its colour or hide it, but the classes can’t be moved into a calendar you already have.

If you turn off “Your classes in your calendar” under Settings, or tap “Turn off”, the link stops working at once. Then remove the calendar in your calendar app.

Health data

From a Health Connect export, Svettkollen reads workouts with heart rate, calories and distance, daily steps, sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), VO₂max, skin temperature, breathing rate and blood oxygen at night, and body temperature you measure yourself.

Workouts come from Samsung Health and AllTrails, sleep from Samsung Health and Sleep as Android, and everything else only from Samsung Health. Google Fit and other apps are skipped.

A workout from your watch is linked to a class from the gym when it covers the class and starts at most 30 minutes before or after it. The link is worked out each time you look and isn’t saved.

“Readiness” on Health compares your latest readings with your average over the 28 days before, leaving out days you logged as ill: resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), the night's sleep and, when your watch measures them, skin temperature, breathing rate and blood oxygen at night (18:00–12:00, counted to the morning you woke up). A reading is off when it's at least 3 bpm higher (resting heart rate), 10 % lower (HRV), 45 minutes shorter (sleep), 0.3 °C warmer (skin temperature), 1 breath/min faster (breathing) or 2 percentage points lower (blood oxygen) than the average, and more than it usually swings for you. Body temperature you measure yourself has fixed limits instead: from 37.5 °C, and from 38.0 °C it counts as a fever.

Svettkollen asks whether you're feeling unwell when two different kinds of readings are off the same night (e.g. your skin temperature and resting heart rate, but not just your resting heart rate and HRV), when you've measured a fever, or when your resting heart rate has been above the average two mornings in a row with your HRV, skin temperature or breathing off too. Under Settings you can have it ask only after two mornings or never, turn readings off and move the limits. A limit you've moved applies exactly as you set it. The suggestions are based only on your own numbers and aren't medical advice.

“Training load” counts every minute with heart rate: 1 point from 50 % of your max heart rate, 2 from 60 %, 3 from 70 %, 4 from 80 % and 5 from 90 % (Edwards' heart rate zones). Max heart rate is the highest your watch has measured, or the second highest once there are at least five workouts, so one faulty reading doesn't count. If you said how hard a class without a watch felt, it's counted as the rating times the class's minutes, turned into points from your classes with both a watch and a rating (at least three). Other classes without a watch are counted at your average per minute for the same program. The last 7 days are compared with your weekly average over the last 28, and 0.8–1.3 times the average counts as usual.

“Sleep and training” sorts your nights over the last 180 days by the day before: with or without training, and whether the training ended at 20:00 or later. Classes and your watch's training both count, and days before your first saved training don't count as rest days. A class's heart rate is compared with your average for the same program, so easy and hard programs can sit side by side. Each comparison shows only once there are at least 5 nights or 3 classes on both sides.

With the HC Webhook app, your phone sends what’s new in Health Connect, under the same rules as an export. The app only sends what was measured after what it last sent, so health data that reaches Health Connect late can be missing, and what you delete on your phone stays. A new export fixes both.

Under Health you log days when you have symptoms, are sick or are recovering, with a note if you like. Under “Day by day” you write how each day was compared with the day before, which symptoms you had and a note, so you can see if it’s getting better or worse. While a period is going on, Overview and Health ask once a day how you are, until you’ve answered for the day or say you’re well again. The week on Overview shows the days. They’re saved in your browser and, when you’re signed in, in your account.

What is saved and who sees it is under Security and privacy.

Challenges

Under Friends you can start a challenge: a goal for a period of at most 92 days, e.g. 12 classes in November. You invite friends you follow or who follow you, at most 10 people including you, and each says yes or no.

Only attended classes count. You choose whether gym visits count, as in the week view, or classes only. Each person’s count comes from the classes in their account, so it’s as fresh as their latest fetch from the gym, and “Updated …” shows when that was.

You can be in 3 challenges at a time. Whoever started a challenge can end it early, and anyone can leave. An ended challenge stays for 30 more days.

If you turn challenges off under Settings, they’re hidden for you and you show as paused in others’ challenges until you turn them on again.

When something goes wrong

If something goes wrong on a page, you see “Reload” and “Go to Overview” instead. Your classes are still in your browser.

An error report holds only the kind of error (e.g. TypeError), whether the page could still be shown, and which page, e.g. /stats. At most 5 reports are sent each time Svettkollen loads, and errors from browser extensions aren’t counted.

Reports are never linked to your account, and you turn them off under Settings.
